Even If You Win, You Lose

A review of the "Aristotelian Mechanics Dissection" — the capstone flat-earth manifesto, arguing there is no gravity, only weight, density and pressure gradients, on a stationary dome-contained plane.

01 · Provenance

What is this document?

The tenth and most ambitious paper from the Azimutha.FE TikTok account: a thirteen-page "Research Brief" titled "A Mechanistic Audit of Classical Natural Philosophy and Contemporary Cosmological Architecture" — the "Aristotelian Mechanics Dissection" — bylined "PPC v5.0 — Independent Research." An abstract and eleven numbered sections use Aristotle as a foil, but the document is not really about Aristotle. It is the first paper in the series to state the author's own model outright, all in one place.

That model: a "stationary, dome-contained topographical plane" with no gravity (only "weight, density differentials, localized pressure gradients"), no vacuum and no space (an "unprovable mathematical fiction"), a plasma Sun and Moon suspended on "fixed magnetic tracks" inside the dome, matter organized by "frequency," and — in the final section — time itself recast as an "artificial grid" of "population management" run by "manipulative minds." Where the earlier nine papers each chipped at one pillar of physics, this one lays the whole alternative on the table. That makes it the most useful of the set to answer, because its foundation can be tested with a spring scale.

One fact holds for every paper in this series and is worth stating plainly: the author reports no physical test of their own — no measurement, no apparatus, no data, no experiment they performed — only argument about other people's work. The paper leans hard on the word "empirical," yet the one genuinely empirical act it invokes — pointing a Nikon P1000 at the sky — it performs out of focus.

02 · Steelman

The strongest version of the paper's case

A surprising amount of it is simply correct, and worth granting up front. Hot air and light gases really do rise by buoyancy — a density-sorting process, not a "desire for ascent," exactly as the paper says. Water really is H₂O in every phase; "wetness" is not a molecular property. Aristotle's literal transmutation of elements and his fifty-five nested crystal spheres really were wrong — the paper is right to retire them. A perfect vacuum really is hard to sustain, and a pressure difference really does rush to fill one. Red and near-infrared light really do have real biological effects. None of that is in dispute, and a fair reading concedes all of it.

And here is the move that settles it: grant, for the sake of argument, that something acts downward — and you may even choose what to call it. The paper is right that "a mystical center-point that objects are programmed to seek" is a caricature; nothing needs an internal tracking device. So grant the author his own terms in full. Call the downward influence density if you like, or electromagnetism, or electrostatics, or "frequency," as he does in his other papers. Grant that it is real and physical and local. Then ask the one question the paper never asks: what shape does a downward pull produce if it is consistent in strength everywhere, points toward local vertical at every spot on Earth, and grows weaker with altitude? The answer does not depend on the name of the force — and it is not a plane.

03 · The Central Move

Density has no acceleration in it — and the force that does builds a globe

Start where the paper starts, with the fall. Its §2 says an object drops because of "weight combined with the downward pressure of the air stack," and stops "because it encounters the ground." But this gets the air exactly backwards. Air pressure, as the paper itself notes, surrounds an object on all sides, and the sideways forces cancel. What is left is the vertical difference in pressure — and that difference pushes up, not down. That is Archimedes' principle: the net force a fluid exerts on a submerged body is buoyancy, and buoyancy is always upward. The "downward pressure of the air stack" is a sign error. The only thing the atmosphere ever does to a falling body is resist it — buoyancy up, drag up — which is why air produces terminal velocity, a ceiling on falling, never the fall itself.

So watch what actually happens: a dropped rock accelerates, gaining speed at about 9.8 metres per second every second, right up until the ground stops it. Density and pressure have no acceleration term anywhere in them — they sort what floats in a field that already exists; they cannot be the field. Something is overpowering buoyancy and drag and accelerating the rock downward, and you do not need a telescope or a space agency to find it: a spring scale reads the force directly, a pendulum's swing gives you the acceleration, a dropped weight and a stopwatch give you the same. Everyone, everywhere, measures the same steady pull. That measured, consistent downward acceleration is the fact on the table, and "it's just density" does not contain it.

Now the move the paper never makes — and the reason it defeats itself. That downward pull is not only consistent in strength; it is consistent in direction in a very particular way. "Down" is local vertical everywhere: a plumb line hangs one way in Quito and another way in Oslo, and those two lines are not parallel — they converge. On a flat plane, "down" would be one single global direction and every plumb line would hang parallel to every other. On a ball, "down" points inward toward the center from every location, so a plumb line's direction changes measurably with latitude — the local vertical follows Earth's curvature, and surveyors read that change directly. (A separate and far smaller deflection of the vertical, arcseconds driven by local mass, rides on top of it — but the Quito-to-Oslo change is plain curvature, degrees of it.) Add two more measured facts and the case is overdetermined: the pull weakens with altitude (the free-air gradient, about 0.3 parts per million per metre — read off the very gravimeters this author dissects in paper #2), which is the signature of a finite mass whose influence falls with distance, not an infinite floor; and it is slightly stronger at the poles than the equator, the signature of an oblate, spinning spheroid. A pull that is consistent, radial, and falls off with height is a central force acting on a spherical mass. That is a globe — read off a plumb line and a spring scale, no space travel required.

And here is why the name of the force cannot save the plane. Whatever you call the downward influence — gravity, magnetism, electrostatics, "frequency" — if it is a central attraction strong enough to hold the oceans and the atmosphere and to point "down" toward a common center, then it does two things at once: it accelerates objects the way we measure, and it pulls a large, plastic mass into hydrostatic equilibrium, which is a sphere. Every force this author reaches for to escape gravity is itself a globe-forming central force — because whatever he names still has to account for a downward pull already measured to converge and to fall off with height. The only field geometry that yields a genuinely flat "down" is a uniform one — the same strength and direction everywhere — which requires an infinite sheet of mass below or an infinitely distant source, and which makes one fatal prediction: a uniform field does not weaken with altitude. But we measure that "down" does weaken with altitude, every day, with the gravimeters of paper #2. So the one force-geometry compatible with a flat Earth is the one the very gravimeters he dissects have already ruled out. This is the whole review in a sentence: the only "down" that fits the measurements is a central one, and a central "down" builds the globe. Even if he wins the argument about what the force is, he loses the shape of the world.

04 · Claim by Claim

The pillars, audited

The paper is a gallop of eleven sections; grouped into its load-bearing pillars, each gets the same treatment — what's true, the premise doing the work, the test that would tell, the public record.

Section 1 · Sphericity proofs and the eclipse Refuted by Data

"Aristotle's sphere proofs are refraction artifacts; the lunar eclipse is a 'dark body,' not Earth's shadow"

The atmosphere is "a compressed lens array" that fakes celestial curvature; the round shadow on the Moon is "a localized, dark celestial entity," not the shadow of a globe.

What's true

Light really does refract in the atmosphere, and Aristotle did not know its precise behaviour. That much is fair.

The premise doing the work

Refraction bends light a little; it does not summon new stars. Aristotle's proof was not "curved paths" — it was that the elevation of the pole star equals your latitude, and that sailing south brings entirely new constellations (the Southern Cross) above the horizon while northern ones sink. No lens array conjures stars that were never above the horizon. And the "dark body" eclipse is the oldest dead trope in the field: only a sphere casts a round shadow at every orientation; lunar eclipses occur only at full moon, when the Sun and Moon are opposite — precisely where a body "transiting between them" cannot be; the eclipsed Moon turns copper-red from sunlight refracted through Earth's own atmosphere, which the shadow model predicts and a dark disc does not; and during a selenelion you can watch the eclipsed Moon and the Sun in the sky at the same time, which a body passing between them makes impossible.

The test that would tell

Sail south and log the sky. New constellations rise; Polaris sinks below the horizon at the equator. Then watch an eclipse: it is always at full moon, the shadow's edge is always circular, and the Moon glows red. Every one of these is a shadow-of-a-ball prediction, and none is a lens artifact.

The public record

Lunar-eclipse geometry (full-moon-only, circular shadow, refraction reddening, occasional selenelion) is standard observational astronomy, checkable from a backyard. The changing constellations with latitude are why celestial navigation works at all.

Section 2 · "Density and pressure, not gravity" Refuted by Data

"Objects fall because of weight and the downward pressure of the air stack, not a central force"

Displacement is "entirely governed by localized weight, medium density, and fluid pressure gradients"; the fall ends at the ground, not at a "cosmic destination."

What's true

Correct that an object needs no internal "tracker" seeking a cosmic point, and that a falling body stops when it meets the ground. The caricature of a mystical goal-seeking center is rightly dismissed.

The premise doing the work

That density and pressure can replace the force. They cannot, for the reason developed above: a pressure gradient's net effect is upward buoyancy, and neither density nor pressure has an acceleration term — yet a dropped object measurably accelerates. Worse, the mechanism is circular: air is denser at the bottom (the paper's own premise) only because something pulls it down; remove that pull and there is no pressure stack, no buoyancy, no "down." Buoyancy is literally ρ·g·V and the pressure gradient is −ρg — both are built out of g, the gravity the section is trying to abolish. The replacement is made of the thing it replaces.

The test that would tell

Remove the air. In a vacuum chamber a coin and a feather fall together and accelerate at the same 9.8 m/s²; on the airless Moon, Apollo 15 dropped a hammer and a feather and they hit together. No air, no pressure stack, no buoyancy — and things still fall, faster every second. Density explains what floats within that fall; it never produced it.

The public record

Archimedes' principle gives the buoyant force as the weight of displaced fluid — an upward force proportional to g. Absolute gravimeters measure the downward acceleration directly by timing a mass falling in vacuum; the Apollo 15 hammer-and-feather drop is the airless case on video.

Section 3 · Levity as buoyancy Standard Model Explains

"Lighter gases rise because they are less dense, not because they seek a cosmic home"

"Levity" is a density-sorting process — light gases float up through denser air the way oil rises in water; flame rises by thermal expansion lowering its density.

What's true — and it is textbook physics

This section is correct, and the standard model agrees with it entirely. Buoyant sorting by density is exactly why helium rises and warm air convects; "levity" as an intrinsic upward-seeking property was indeed Aristotle's error, and describing flame's rise as thermal-expansion buoyancy is right. No dispute at all.

The catch it walks into

Buoyancy is not an alternative to gravity — it presupposes it. A thing floats up only because the fluid around it is pulled down harder; "less dense rises, denser sinks" is a statement about a gravitational field, meaningless without one. The section that most cleanly states real physics is therefore the section that most cleanly refutes the paper's own thesis: every "up" it explains by density is an "up" defined against the "down" it spent the previous section denying. Correct physics, fatal to the argument carrying it.

The test that would tell

Take the buoyancy engine to orbit. On the Space Station, with gravity in free-fall, a helium balloon does not rise and a candle flame goes out in a ball — because with no effective "down," there is no buoyant "up." Density sorting switches off precisely when gravity does.

The public record

Buoyancy (Archimedes) is defined by the weight of displaced fluid; convection and flame shape change completely in microgravity, as decades of orbital combustion experiments show. The paper's correct account of levity is correct because of the gravity it rejects.

Section 4 · The surface-tension scaling argument Misleading

"Solid Earth can't have compressed into a ball; only fluids bead up by surface tension"

Spherical shaping "is exclusively confined to materials in a fluid or liquid state"; to say the solid Earth rounded itself is "a categorical error," since rock would fracture into an irregular mound, not a sphere.

What's true

Correct that surface tension shapes raindrops and that surface tension does not round planets. Rock is not held together by molecular cohesion at that scale. So far, so good.

The premise doing the work

That planets are claimed to round by surface tension. No one claims that — it is a strawman. Planets round because self-gravity pulls their mass toward the center until they reach hydrostatic equilibrium, and at planetary scale rock behaves plastically over geological time, deforming rather than holding arbitrary shape. The decisive point is observational: there is a threshold size — the "potato radius," around 200–300 kmbelow which bodies are lumpy (small asteroids) and above which they are round (every large moon and planet). We see both regimes in the solar system. Earth, at 6,371 km, is so far above the threshold that its mountains are proportionally smaller than the bumps on a billiard ball — Everest is 0.14% of the radius.

The test that would tell

Survey the solar system by size. Small asteroids: irregular. Bodies above a few hundred kilometres: spherical, without exception. The transition is exactly where self-gravity overcomes material strength — the scaling test the paper says fails is one the asteroid belt passes in front of us.

The public record

Hydrostatic equilibrium and the potato-radius transition are standard planetary science, imaged across the asteroid belt and the moons of the outer planets. Self-gravity, not surface tension, is the mechanism — and it rounds solids, given enough mass and time.

Section 5 · Level water and the horizon Refuted by Data

"Water always seeks a flat level and needs containment; the horizon rises to eye level"

Water "universally seeks a flat, uniform level" and would "sheet off" a sphere; the horizon's drop is "an optical illusion," and high-altitude data shows it "consistently rises directly to the eye level of the observer."

What's true

Water does find its level and does need to be held in place, and perspective is a real effect. Correct as far as it goes.

The premise doing the work

What "level" means. A level surface is one perpendicular to the local downward force — an equipotential — which over long distances curves with the planet. Water is "contained" by that force, not by walls; the ocean is held to the Earth the same way the atmosphere is. And the horizon claim is not a matter of interpretation — it is measurably false. As you climb, the horizon does not rise to your eye; it drops below horizontal by a definite angle, the dip of the horizon, which grows with altitude and is a standard quantity in aviation and celestial navigation. A pilot's instruments and a navigator's sextant both read that dip directly; from a high-altitude balloon it is degrees below level, exactly as a globe predicts and a plane forbids.

The test that would tell

Measure the horizon against true horizontal with a levelled instrument as you gain altitude. On a plane it would stay at eye level; on a globe it dips, more with height. The measured dip matches the globe to the arcminute — it is used to find your altitude from the horizon and vice versa.

The public record

The dip of the horizon is tabulated in every nautical almanac and applied in celestial navigation; "level" as an equipotential surface is the working definition in geodesy and hydrology. Large still-water baselines show the curvature directly once the observation is done carefully.

Section 7 · The Nikon P1000 and the plasma dome Refuted by Data

"High-zoom footage shows planets as plasma orbs and stars as blinking LEDs on maglev tracks in a dome"

A Nikon P1000 reveals planets as "luminous airy discs" and stars as "a matrixed, blinking configuration analogous to LEDs on a PCB"; Sun and Moon are "plasma engines" on "fixed magnetic tracks" inside a pressurized dome.

What's true

The P1000 is a real camera, stars really do twinkle, and distant point-sources really do shimmer with colour through the atmosphere. The footage is genuine.

The premise doing the work

That the shimmer is the object rather than the optics. The P1000 is a consumer superzoom with a tiny sensor; the "oscillating airy disc" is an out-of-focus star plus atmospheric scintillation plus chromatic aberration plus in-camera processing — the very scintillation the paper waves away, filmed defocused. The proof is in the same camera: focus it properly and the P1000 resolves Saturn's rings, Jupiter's cloud belts and its four Galilean moons, and the phases of Venus — none of which a "plasma orb on a magnetic rail" has any account of. And we have not merely photographed these worlds; we have orbited Saturn for thirteen years and are driving on Mars right now. The dome-and-maglev has no mechanism, no detected boundary (no rocket, balloon, or aircraft has struck it; there is no seam, no reflection, no edge), and predicts nothing — it is unfalsifiable set-dressing.

The test that would tell

Focus the same P1000 on Saturn. The rings appear; the moons line up and move night to night exactly as an ephemeris predicts. A blinking plasma node does not have moons that keep a timetable.

The public record

Amateur astrophotographers resolve Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons with the very P1000 the paper cites; the Cassini and Mars-rover missions returned years of in-situ data from the "plasma orbs." Twinkling is atmospheric, and it vanishes above the atmosphere — which is why space telescopes were built.

Sections 8–10 · Frequency, the bio-grid, and the vacuum/time close Unfalsifiable

"Matter is organized by 'frequency'; decay is a recycling grid; vacuum and linear time are fictions of control"

Every element has an "inherent resonant frequency"; the Sun is "wireless power" and grounding "retards decay"; a true vacuum "cannot exist," π "maps the boundary," and the clock is "a mechanism of population management."

What's true

Real threads run through here: matter is not transmuted by swapping qualities, water stays H₂O, phase changes are driven by temperature and pressure, and red/near-infrared light does have genuine biological effects. Conceded.

The premise doing the work

The correct pieces are used to launder unfalsifiable claims. "Every element has a resonant frequency that is the universal variable" is the author's recurring mysticism — phase changes are kinetic energy against intermolecular bonds, not a resonant tone — and "grounding retards decay," sunlight as "wireless power to cells," and synthetic medicine making "the body turn on itself" are wellness folklore inflated from a narrow real effect. The vacuum section refutes itself against the author's own prior evidence: he says space cannot be empty because a pressure system would rush to fill it — yet satellites orbit for decades with no measurable air drag, the very drag-free fact his Kepler paper leaned on. A pressurized dome-medium would decay those orbits in months. "π maps the boundary" is numerology, and "time is a control grid run by manipulative minds" is where the physics finally gives way to the conspiracy it was always serving.

The test that would tell

Ask each claim for a number or a boundary. What frequency, and what does it predict? At what altitude is the dome, and why has nothing hit it? How does a "pressurized" space not brake the satellites we track drag-free for fifty years? None is answered, because none is meant to be tested — the mark of set-dressing, not physics.

The public record

Phase transitions are standard thermodynamics; satellite laser ranging (e.g. LAGEOS, ranged since 1976) shows the drag-free orbits a dome-medium forbids; and time dilation — denied across these papers — is measured daily in atomic clocks and in the slowed light-curves of distant supernovae. The mystical and conspiratorial claims make no checkable prediction at all.

05 · The Decisive Point

The measured "down" builds the globe — off his own instruments

Every flat-earth paper eventually reaches for a substitute to carry the load that gravity carries: this author uses "density and pressure" here, "electromagnetism" and an atmospheric electric field in his inverse-square paper, "electrostatics" and "frequency" elsewhere. The buoyancy bust has already forced a real downward g onto the table — his own §3 density-sorting runs on it. The author insists that "down" is a single uniform vertical vector from the "pressure stack," and calls a "center point" attraction "entirely unsupported." But whether that "down" is uniform or central is not his to stipulate — it is measured. Two plumb lines far apart do not hang parallel: their direction changes measurably with latitude, following Earth's curvature, and surveyors read that change directly; and "down" is measured to weaken with altitude. A uniform field does neither. A pull that converges toward a common region and falls off with distance is a central force on a finite mass — and a central force, acting on a large, deformable mass over enough time, draws it into hydrostatic equilibrium, which is a sphere. The measured facts, not a premise granted by the author, build the Earth he is trying to flatten. His replacement does his opponent's work.

There is exactly one escape, and the author's own favourite instrument has already closed it. A downward pull can be flat-compatible only if it is perfectly uniform — identical in strength and direction everywhere — which is the field of an infinite sheet of mass or an infinitely distant source. That geometry makes a single, sharp, testable prediction: a uniform field does not weaken with height. Every other option — every finite, central source — weakens as you rise. And "down" is measured to weaken with altitude, about 0.3 parts per million per metre, on the very gravimeters the author dissects in paper #2. He need not trust those instruments as witnesses for gravity — he need only grant what his own paper does not deny, that their readings are real and repeatable — and that reading alone rules out the only field a flat Earth allows. The uniform-field plane is dead on arrival, undone by the readings his own paper works to explain away.

Why this paper is the one to keep

The earlier nine papers were skirmishes over single phenomena; this one finally draws the whole map — dome, plane, plasma luminaries, no gravity, no vacuum, no time — and in doing so exposes the single repeated move underneath all of them. Every time, the author takes a correct local observation (buoyancy lifts, water finds its level, a lens refracts, a solid resists compression) and makes the identical illegitimate leap to therefore no gravity, no sphere, no space. And every time, the leap is refuted the same way: by the consistency of the measurement across the whole world, which is precisely what a central force on a globe produces and a flat plane cannot. Buoyancy is made of gravity. The vacuum he denies is the vacuum his orbits require. The time he calls a control grid is the time his supernovae are seen to stretch. The map he has finally drawn is a map of a globe, labelled "plane."

06 · What The Paper Never Mentions

The measurements a spring scale and a plumb line already made

A paper claiming there is no gravity and no globe omits every simple, on-the-ground measurement that reads both directly. Each is checkable without leaving Earth.

Plumb lines that converge

Two plumb bobs far apart do not hang parallel — they tilt toward a common center, and surveyors measure that changing direction. Parallel would mean a plane; convergent means a ball. The instrument is a string and a weight.

Gravity that fades with height

"Down" weakens about 0.3 parts per million per metre of altitude — the free-air gradient, read by the same gravimeters the author dissects in paper #2, whose readings even he grants are real and repeatable. A finite central mass does this; an infinite flat floor cannot.

Gravity that changes with latitude

A spring scale reads slightly heavier at the poles than the equator, matching an oblate, spinning spheroid. A flat plane predicts no such pattern.

The hammer and the feather

In a vacuum chamber, and on the airless Moon, a feather and a heavy mass fall together at the same acceleration — no air, no buoyancy, no "pressure stack," and things still fall faster every second.

New stars in the south

Sail toward the equator and the Southern Cross rises while Polaris sinks below the horizon. Refraction cannot raise stars that a flat plane would keep permanently in view or permanently hidden.

The eclipse you can bracket

Lunar eclipses happen only at full moon, the shadow's edge is always circular, the Moon reddens from refracted sunlight, and sometimes Sun and eclipsed Moon are visible at once — a shadow-of-a-ball, never a passing disc.

Saturn's rings in the same camera

The Nikon P1000 the paper cites resolves Saturn's rings and Jupiter's four moons the moment it is focused — and the moons keep the ephemeris's timetable, which a blinking plasma node does not.

Orbits with no drag

LAGEOS has been laser-ranged since 1976 with no air-drag decay — impossible if space were the pressurized medium the paper's dome requires, and the very fact the author relied on elsewhere.

07 · Anticipated Responses

Objections, answered in advance

"It isn't a force at all — it's just density and pressure."

Density and pressure have no acceleration in them, and a dropped object accelerates. Worse, a pressure gradient's net force is buoyancy, which points up — the air resists the fall. Something overpowers it and speeds the object downward, and a spring scale reads that force directly. "Density" describes what floats within the pull; it is not the pull.

"Fine — but the force is electromagnetism, or electrostatics, not gravity."

Then you still have a globe. The "down" we actually measure converges — plumb lines far apart tilt toward each other — and falls off with height; any force that reproduces that, whatever its name, is a central force, and a central force draws a large mass into a sphere and makes "down" point inward everywhere, so the horizon dips. Renaming the force does not un-build the shape the measurements describe. You have relabelled the globe-maker, not escaped it.

"The plane has a uniform field, or infinite mass below."

A uniform field is the one flat-compatible option, and it makes a fatal prediction: it does not weaken with altitude. "Down" is measured to weaken with altitude — 0.3 parts per million per metre — on the gravimeters this author's own paper #2 dissects, whose readings even he grants are real and repeatable. The uniform-field plane is ruled out by the very readings he works to re-attribute.

"Water finds its level and needs walls — it can't wrap a ball."

"Level" means perpendicular to the local pull — an equipotential — which curves over distance; the walls are the pull itself, the same one holding the atmosphere. And the horizon does not stay at eye level as you rise; it dips by a measured angle used in navigation. Both facts are the globe's, read from the water and the skyline.

"The review didn't address the paper in its entirety."

The abstract and every substantive section — geometry and the eclipse, displacement, levity, the scaling argument, water and the horizon, the Aristotelian heavens, the P1000, transmutation-as-frequency, the bio-grid, and the vacuum/π/time close — are addressed above. 08 · Primary Sources

  1. Archimedes' principle — the buoyant force equals the weight of displaced fluid, ρ·g·V, directed upward. Buoyancy and the atmospheric pressure gradient (dp/dz = −ρg) are both proportional to g: built from gravity, not alternatives to it.
  2. Apollo 15 hammer-and-feather drop (1971) — on the airless Moon a feather and a hammer fall together at the same acceleration; the vacuum-chamber version is standard demonstration physics. No air means no buoyancy or drag, and objects still accelerate downward.
  3. Deflection of the vertical — the direction of the local vertical (a plumb line) changes with latitude as it follows Earth's curvature, so plumb lines at widely separated sites are not parallel: parallel would indicate a plane, convergence a sphere. (The named "deflection of the vertical" is a distinct, arcsecond-scale local effect — the plumb line's departure from the reference ellipsoid due to nearby mass — not this degrees-scale curvature convergence.)
  4. Gravity of Earth — free-air gradient and latitude variationg weakens with altitude (~3.086 μm/s² per metre; ~0.3086 mGal/m), the signature of a finite central mass, and is stronger at the poles than the equator (~9.83 vs ~9.78 m/s²), the signature of an oblate spheroid. A uniform (flat-compatible) field would show neither.
  5. Hydrostatic equilibrium and the "potato radius" — self-gravity rounds bodies above a threshold of a few hundred kilometres; below it they stay irregular. Observed across the asteroid belt and the outer moons — the scaling transition the paper says cannot happen.
  6. Dip of the horizon — from altitude the horizon drops below true horizontal by a definite angle that grows with height, tabulated in nautical almanacs and applied in celestial navigation. On a plane it would remain at eye level.
  7. Lunar-eclipse geometry / selenelion — eclipses occur only at full moon; the shadow edge is always circular; the Moon reddens from refracted sunlight; and Sun and eclipsed Moon are sometimes visible simultaneously — incompatible with a "dark body" passing between them.
  8. Cassini at Saturn (2004–2017) and Perseverance at Mars (2021– ) — years of in-situ data from the bodies the paper calls "plasma orbs"; the same Nikon P1000 resolves Saturn's rings and Jupiter's Galilean moons when focused.
  9. NASA, LAGEOS (1976– ) — satellite laser ranging with no air-drag decay for five decades: the vacuum of space the paper denies, and the drag-free orbit a "pressurized dome" forbids.
  10. Empirical anchor — the whole case rests on instruments anyone can hold: a spring scale (the downward force), a pendulum or dropped mass and stopwatch (the acceleration, ~9.8 m/s²), and a plumb line (its direction). The consistency of those readings across the world is what a central force on a globe produces.
